Second Stage of Polio Vaccination to Be Launched

TEHRAN The second stage of polio vaccination plan for children under five years old will be launched on Monday, said Dr. Parviz Vazirian, the official in charge of the nationwide program. He told IRNA that about 17,000 healthcare personnel of the Health Ministry will carry on vaccination of 1.5 million under-five children by going door to door in different parts of the country.
Dr. Vazirian said border areas and regions where refugees are most concentrated are among areas which will be covered in the second stage of the vaccination plan. He termed the first stage of the plan which was conducted last month as ''successful'', adding that it was fully implemented. (IRNA)
